What we collect and why

Enquiry form. Your name, work email and what you tell us about your needs. We use it to respond to your enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interest, because you have asked us for help and we need to be able to reply and keep a record of the conversation. You don't have to give us anything, but we can't reply without your name and email address. Kept while the conversation is live and for up to two years after.

Newsletter. Your email address, only if you sign up in the newsletter box or tick the newsletter option on our enquiry or download forms. Our mailing list is held by MailerLite, which stores data in the EU. When you join, we send you one welcome email, then our newsletter from time to time. Legal basis: consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, and we remove you straight away. Withdrawing your consent doesn't affect anything we sent before. Kept until you unsubscribe.

Downloads. If you download one of our programme guides, we ask for your work email. We use it to let our team know the guide was downloaded so that we can follow up if it looks useful to you. Legal basis: legitimate interest, because we want to know which of our material is useful and to follow up a genuine interest. Kept for up to two years.

Free DISC test. When you take our free DISC test, we ask for your name and work email, and you can tell us which best describes your role. We use these to show you your result, to email you your report and to let our team know you have taken the test. Legal basis: legitimate interest, because you have asked for your report.

If you tick the box on the form, we will also send you occasional emails through MailerLite about your DISC style, working well with other styles and how we use DiSC with teams, which may include an invitation to book a call with us. Legal basis: your consent, and we keep a record of when you gave it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by emailing hello@innerleader.co.uk, and you can always object to direct marketing. If you don't tick the box, we only send you your report.

We keep your details for up to two years from when you take the test, then delete them. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a list of people not to email, so that we don't contact you again.

Analytics. We use PostHog, with data stored in the EU, to see how the site is used. If you accept analytics cookies, this includes session recordings: recordings of how pages are used, with anything typed into forms hidden. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. If you reject, or have not chosen yet, we count visits without cookies using an anonymous code that changes daily, and your IP address is not kept. Legal basis: legitimate interest in knowing how our site performs. Session recordings are deleted after 30 days, and other analytics data is deleted after 12 months. Details are on our cookies page.

Booking. If you book a call, our scheduling provider (Calendly) processes your name and email under its own privacy policy. The booking also arrives in our calendar and inbox, and we keep it under the same rules as an enquiry.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run this website and our business. Each one is bound by a data-processing agreement and may only use your data to provide that service to us.

Sending data outside the UK

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Data held in the European Union is covered by the UK's recognition of EU data protection. Email us if you would like the detail for any provider.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete your data
  • restrict what we do with it
  • stop using it, where we rely on legitimate interest, and always for marketing
  • give you the data you gave us in a format you can take elsewhere

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We don't make decisions about you by automated means, and we don't profile you.
